Comprehensive Timeline of Updates and Events

January 21 — Search

Editorial changes to existing spam policies (site reputation abuse language clarified). Confirmed enforcement of site reputation policy was imminent.

March 13–27 — Search

March 2025 Core Update rolled out. Massive focus on E-E-A-T, originality, and user value; penalizing scaled, low-quality content.

April 2 — Analytics

Generated insights made available in GA4. Marketers could leverage AI-powered data insights for faster decision-making.

May 5 — Search

Enforcement begins for new spam policies (scaled content, expired domains, site reputation abuse). Sites using “parasite SEO” or scaled AI content faced immediate penalties/manual actions.
